China Approves Two New CAR-T Therapies, Expanding Access for International Patients

A Global First

China's National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) has approved two new CAR-T cell therapy products, bringing the country's total number of approved CAR-T therapies to six — the highest of any country in the world. The approvals cover both B-cell lymphoma and multiple myeloma indications.

What This Means for International Patients

These approvals expand treatment options for international patients seeking CAR-T therapy in China. With six commercially available products, physicians can now select the optimal therapy based on each patient's specific cancer subtype and treatment history.

The cost advantage remains significant: CAR-T therapy in China is priced between $100,000 and $180,000, compared to $375,000-$475,000 in the United States.
