About the Hospital
Peking University People's Hospital (PKUPH), founded in 1918 as China's first general hospital financed and operated by Chinese nationals, is today one of Beijing's most comprehensive academic medical centers, with over 2,600 beds across three campuses, 4.5 million annual outpatient visits, and more than 1,300 physicians.
It holds dual national designations as both the National Center for Trauma Medicine and the National Clinical Research Center for Hematologic Disease — a rare pairing that makes it simultaneously China's leading trauma system and its premier blood cancer treatment hub.
The Peking University Institute of Hematology, housed here, is the world's largest center for allogeneic and haploidentical stem cell transplantation, performing over 1,200 transplant cases per year; its pioneering protocol for half-matched bone marrow transplantation — adopted by centers in Italy, France, Israel, and South Korea — has transformed outcomes for leukemia and aplastic anemia patients who lack matched donors globally. From hematologic malignancy and CAR-T cell therapy to complex polytrauma and minimally invasive thoracic surgery, PKUPH offers a breadth and depth of subspecialty excellence rarely found at a single institution.

Featured Technology & Equipment
Elekta Harmony Pro Adaptive LINAC

Elekta Harmony Pro Adaptive LINAC
China's first full-workflow online adaptive radiotherapy system, launched May 2024. AI automatically re-contours tumors and redesigns treatment plans in real time each session — critical when organs shift between treatments for prostate, cervical, head-and-neck, or lung cancers. The entire adaptive workflow completes in under 30 minutes, reducing radiation dose to healthy tissue versus conventional IMRT.
PET/CT Imaging (Nuclear Medicine Center)

PET/CT Imaging (Nuclear Medicine Center)
Full oncologic staging and metabolic imaging for lymphoma, lung, colorectal, and inflammatory cancers. The department performs tens of thousands of scans annually and operates SPECT/CT systems for bone scans, thyroid imaging, and cardiac perfusion alongside the PET/CT, enabling comprehensive nuclear medicine evaluation for complex oncology cases.
CAR-T Cell Therapy Program

CAR-T Cell Therapy Program
One of China's flagship CAR-T programs under Academician Huang Xiaojun, treating refractory B-cell lymphoma, multiple myeloma, and acute leukemia. The program combines CAR-T infusion with haploidentical stem cell transplant and MRD cytometry monitoring — offering curative treatment options for blood cancers that have failed multiple prior therapies and are unavailable in many countries.
