Huashan Hospital, Fudan University

Huashan Hospital of Fudan University, founded in 1907 as the Chinese Red Cross General Hospital, is one of China's oldest and most distinguished teaching hospitals, operating four campuses in Shanghai with over 3,100 approved beds and 42 clinical departments.

It is designated a National Medical Center for Neurological Diseases and a National Center for Infectious Diseases, and holds 18 National Key Clinical Specialties and 7 National Key Academic Disciplines.

The neurosurgery department performs over 14,000 operations annually and has ranked #1 in the National Rankings for neurosurgery for 13 consecutive years, while the neurology department consistently holds the #1 national ranking as well. Huashan's International Medical Center was the first hospital in mainland China to achieve JCI accreditation, and has treated more than 600,000 international patients from over 100 countries; the hospital is also home to China's largest hand surgery and microsurgery program, which trains the majority of hand surgeons practicing nationally.
