About the Hospital

Fudan University Shanghai Cancer Center (FUSCC), established in 1931 as China's earliest specialized cancer institution and the first cancer hospital to establish a Radiation Therapy Institute in East Asia, is the National Clinical Research Center for Malignant Tumors and the Eastern China Branch of the National Cancer Center.

It ranks among the top three cancer hospitals in the National Rankings and operates 2,149 beds across 43 clinical and technical departments, with more than 590,000 outpatient visits and 64,700 inpatient admissions annually.

FUSCC holds national key clinical specialties in breast oncology, radiotherapy, and pathology, and is internationally recognized for its breast cancer research — including building the world's largest single-center multiomic cohort for triple-negative breast cancer — and reports an overall cancer 5-year survival rate of 71.6%, matching standards achieved in developed countries. The center houses the Shanghai Pancreatic Cancer Institute, the Fudan University Breast Oncology Institute, and the Fudan University Nasopharynx Cancer Diagnosing and Treating Center, and is authorized to conduct national drug clinical trials across all major cancer types.
