About the Hospital
Beijing Anzhen Hospital, affiliated with Capital Medical University and established in 1984 alongside the Beijing Institute of Heart, Lung and Blood Vessel Diseases, is one of China's foremost cardiovascular and thoracic specialty hospitals and was designated the National Clinical Research Center for Cardiovascular Diseases in 2014.
The hospital performs over 40,000 surgeries annually — including nearly 30,000 cardiovascular interventional procedures and more than 10,000 open cardiac operations — while receiving over 2.3 million outpatient and emergency visits each year.
Anzhen is nationally recognized as a leader in aortic surgery, arrhythmia management, structural heart disease, and thoracic oncology, and serves as the national quality control center for coronary intervention. Its hybrid operating suite, dedicated ECMO and ECPR program, and specialized aortic surgical team handle some of the most complex and time-critical cardiovascular emergencies in northern China.
